Philoxenia – Hotelia – Polis
The increasing rise of Greek tourism followed this year by the exhibitions of PHILOXENIA, HOTELIA and POLIS. Those exhibitions took part from 12 to 15 of November at the premises of the International Exhibition Center of Thessaloniki. Based on the official data from Helexpo overall increase in visitors was 17%. As every year, this year in addition to these three exhibitions were a lot of parallel events three of which stood out due to the large influx of visitors to them. Spotlight singled conference titled Destination Thessaloniki, the event entitled The Art of Drinking Coffee and Spirit and the DPOINT Hotel Village. Those three exhibitions were based on its attendance mainly to trade visitors. Compared to last year’s Philoxenia 2014, the report showed an increase in visitors of 17%, while Hotelia exposure of 95%. More than 3,000 scheduled appointments between exhibitors and 107 foreign guest trade visitors held during the exhibition. The foreign guest trade visitors came from 32 different countries. The number of Philoxenia exhibitors this year was 351. The last year the number of the exhibitors of Philoxenia was 232 and the premises covering was to ¼ bigger than the last year’s event. The exhibitors of Hotelia this yaer were 157. The last year the exhibitors of Hotelia were 141.
In this year’s exhibitions as it was expected, were present all the tourism operators of the city of Thessaloniki. All the Hotels of Thessaloniki City either by exhibitors or by visitors representatives left their mark. As it was expected from this year’s events could not be missed by the hotel ad Imperial Palace which is one of the most representative hotels in the center of Thessaloniki. The hotel a.d. Imperial Palace was represented by two members of his administration. The purpose of the above action was the new relationships and the further promotion of both the hotel and its services and the tourist product of Thessaloniki at the specialized tourism professionals. Representatives of the hotel came into contact with many different tourist organizations noting the increasing strengthening of the tourism profile of the city of Thessaloniki.
